Tolkien, Myth, and Medieval Literature: Open Mike evening

Monday, November 15                                                                                         Seton Academic Centre 404.  6:00-8:00 p.m.
Mount Saint Vincent University
166 Bedford Highway, Halifax

Join English 4401 students as they recreate oral traditions by reciting or retelling scenes from Tolkien, Old Norse myth, or Old English poetry.  Come to read your favourite passages from Tolkien's work, medieval literature, or any myth from around the world, or bring your medieval and/or Tolkien-inspired art and fiction to share with the audience. Or, if you prefer, you can just sit back and enjoy the creative works that you will see and hear this evening, including dramatic retellings, creative rewritings, art works, recordings, movie clips, and even a sign language translation!  Refreshments will be served. Members of the Mount community and the general public are welcome.

This event is part of the Celebrating Writing at the Mount week-long series.  The full program of events can be found on the Celebrating Writing webpage
