Title

“Eva's designs involve matching up what can be done with a particular choice of materials or medium with a mathematical system or pattern to work within. Choosing a mathematical system for designs using a given material reflects how craft techniques and systems for working with given materials have developed within each culture (e.g. Origami, Celtic jewellery).”

“Conversely, the large kite technology triangles are an example of choosing the best material for a given mathematical system. That is a material and a technology to scale up a mathematical system developed with the medium of paper and the Origami tradition. This scaling up involved a size change from centimeters to meters, and a change from one experienced paper folder to a large team of first time participants.”
