This page
contains copies of the RDI's participant 'issues position papers' that
were developed for and submitted to the RDI working seminar. These papers
were developed with the understanding that they would be 'thought pieces'
respecting participant concerns and ideas on the RDI's themes of research
designs and methodological tools best suited for systematically documenting
ecological knowledge claims. Participants were neither asked nor expected
to developed polished, scholarly essays as 'issues position papers'.
The papers were
requested and received prior to 24/05/99 and 01/06/00. They were copied
and circulated among the RDI's participants before gathering for the
working seminar. RDI Steering Committee members (Bundy, MacInnes, Phyne
and Williams) developed and presented theme-specific reviews of the
issues position papers at the beginning of each day's seminars. These
reviews are also presented here.
